Well, that lasted 6 months

A Click a Day is officially dead. Maybe I’ll come up with something better to fill the void – a little less demanding?!?

Thankful for the new job though – so if something had to go, I am glad it was this.

Thanks to all my readers :) all three of you that are left.

Back from Hiatus

Mexico was great.  The fishing was a little rough, but that’s to be expected when you’re on the edge of a hurricane!

We left on the 25th – and I didn’t take ANY PICTURES all day! We flew into Cancun, and then drove a miserable 4.5 hours south towards Paradise Lodge.  Note to travelers:  apparently when you stop to pee at the gas station, you have to pay 50 pesos in order to “make a deposit” of any kind.  Additionally, you supply your own paper!  Wow!

Dinner at the lodge was awesome, but then again, we hadn’t eaten for 12 hours due to the way flights worked out and our trip through customs.  We chatted with our fellow anglers and got to know each other before our first day of fishing.

June 26th – Day 1 of Fishing – Chetumal Bay (nearly Belize!)

I have other cool pictures from this day (and the whole trip) – just click on the picture and it should take you to them!

We got a lot of sun this day, despite the clouds in this picture! In fact, I blistered the tops of my ears!!!! So every day after this, I wore my buff mask!  I’m sure you’ll see it in a few pictures.

June 27th – Day 2 of Fishing – We fished the lakes -

In order to get to the lake, we had to shove our boat through the mangroves where an entrance had been carved.  This was a bad fishing day, so honestly, this was our highlight! There were crabs crawling all through the mangrove, and when we passed through I freaked out, thinking they were spiders!  BIG spiders!  But nope, just crabs.

June 28th – Fishing Day 3 and my hubby’s birthday!!! – Espirit de Santos Bay

This location was beautiful – but was a TWO HOUR ride down a horrible DIRT ROAD filled with potholes and washboard!  You held on to your “oh shit!” handles the whole way!  Then you had a 45 minute boat ride to get to the otherside of the bay…..a long way to catch some fish!  We took this trip out to ESB three times!  Rick only caught ONE fish on his birthday:

Day 4 – June 29th – Back to ESB!

Dinner this evening was delicious – as was every meal.  But it was particularly cool too:

Here’s our appetizer

June 30 – Day 5 of Fishing!  Chetumal Bay

Rick got to do some wade fishing – and it was a great day on the water, and I got to play in the rocks :)

Final day of fishing – July 1 – back to ESB

We fished ESB with another boat, and occasionally ran into them throughout the day.  (I do have pictures of me with fish, but they are on the camera we accidentally left in Cancun!)  I took this pic of our fellow anglers catching a fish:

Then Saturday the 2nd – we packed up and made the trek back to Cancun.  Thankfully, I booked us an overnight stay at a resort and Rick and I were able to take a vacation from our vacation!  It was WONDERFUL!!! and we are already planning Christmas in Cancun 2011!!!!!

Unfortunately, it was only one night!  We headed back on July 3rd, and I didn’t take a picture all day until we arrived at Mom’s house.  Rickie had been sick the entire time we were gone, poor guy, and when we arrived he broke out in hives or some sort of rash!  I took a picture and texted it to a friend (r/n) who’s married to a doctor, I’m glad she likes me!  lol Seems that the virus was just working its way out of his system?

And we finished off our lovely time abroad by celebrating our nation’s independence with FIREWORKS!

Then, July 5th – I took a picture of my sunglass-face-tan, but I’ll spare you.  IT was to share with my bestie – who has perfected the white raccoon eye look!  AND happy birthday to my way-OLDER sister!  :)

Today is KYLEN’s birthday!  We have nothing planned, and that’s okay!  We’ve already partied, so it will just be a chill day today.  Maybe a photo-session?

Okay – So, i was wrong

I won’t be posting…its “too much done gone” by now.

Kids are at my mom’s for nearly two weeks, while we prep to head out to Mexico. I will have pictures for each day of our trip – but they won’t post until I return….so check back after the 4th!!!

WOOHOO

I have not forgotten

I promise. I have entries – they are coming. This week I’ll make up all of last week, and of course this week. We’ll get there, stick with me.

Day 154 – The day baseball season ended

And I couldn’t have lasted a minute longer…Whew!

It was an awesome way to end the season!!! Rickie HIT HIT HIT the ball today. I told him, as I’ve told him the last 6 or so games, to swing at EVERY.SINGLE.PITCH that crosses the plate, ball or strike. FINALLY – he took my advice and whacked one out to the shortfield. YEAH!!!!!

Also, they shifted players around, so he didn’t play outfield like he usually does, he ended up playing third, and he ROCKED it! Did my heart some good to see him playing my base! He stopped a few balls, got a few outs on third, and one time made a throw to the shortstop (why?) who then threw it to second to get a kid out! He was SMILING from ear to ear, and so was I!

Today’s game ball went to…..HIM!!!! Even more joy! I know he’s been saying he doesn’t want to play next year, but I am secretly hoping today’s game changed his mind! We’ll see when its time to sign up for ball next year.

——-

Kylen’s last game was awesome as well. We had our star defensive player on first, knocking down anything that came her way (way to go Lexi!), and Ky standing her ground on the pitchers mound. She had a few good hits, and ended the season on a high note as well. She’s uber excited about moving up to Coach’s Pitch next year, and I am too! I’m sure we’ll take a break until the heat dies off, and then work on a few things through the winter with her. She told me this morning, “Mom, I like baseball more than cheerleading now.” Finally! That only took all season. lol

It was a good day! Now….the kids are at my Mom’s for a week or so, and I am heading out to eat some yummy crawfish at a friends house. Adios!

Day 153 – Pool Party & The Range

Day 152 – The day I showed that arrow who’s boss

Yup – Sure did…

Day 151 – more pool…

More time at the pool – this time for Rickie’s party….

Day 150 – The day there was a chinook…

And my husband was jumping out of it.

Wasn’t sure the jump was going to happen….here’s what the sky looked like right before:

Day 149 – the day I had off….

And with my day off, I went to the pool…It was a great time, complete with  my own sunburn!

All the pictures I took that day were pretty darn cute, but here’s the one I’m going with.  Lil’ Mr. GQ.
